Ampcontrol is collaborating with Aeversa, a South African provider of charging as a service (CaaS), to provide intelligent charging options for electric fleets. Since creating EV charging services over the past few years, Aeversa has expanded its offering to include intelligent charging software for consumers. With Ampcontrol’s smart charge management software, Aeversa can address important market issues in South Africa, such as grid restrictions and power interruptions. The two companies have already collaborated on a last-mile delivery project, and they are excited about several initiatives they are developing together.
Ampcontrol, a charge management system, communicates wirelessly with electric vehicles, charging networks, and fleet management systems. The software employs real-time data to guarantee punctual departures, low peak power usage, cheaper energy costs, fully charged vehicles, and more. Ampcontrol uses an API-based architecture, which allows integration with other software that is already in use straightforward and seamless. The VC-backed company operates in Africa, Europe, and the United States.
Applied Electric Vehicle Energy Reticulation Systems Africa (Aeversa) aims to speed up the transition of the current Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) transport fleets to electric fleets. Aeversa, a pioneer in green energy transportation, counsels the sector on how to transition to battery-electric vehicles and offers a “complete solution” that covers everything from identifying the required vehicles to planning and building charging infrastructure. Among its product offerings are maintenance, Ampcontrol’s cutting-edge charge management system, and flexible financing options for vehicles and charging infrastructure. 3.5-ton battery-electric trucks, battery-electric panel vans, and various electric scooters make up the company’s current CEV (Commercial Electric Fleet) product line-up.
“We are excited to work with one of the market’s most driven, forward-thinking CaaS companies. The challenges Aeversa is tackling in the South African market speak deeply into the technology behind our software, and we are eager to keep evolving our product for these extreme conditions,” says Joachim Lohse, CEO, and founder of Ampcontrol. “The level of technology and thought in Aeversa’s solutions, in combination with our software, will streamline the development of electric vehicle projects in the country.”
“Working with one of the market’s most ambitious, forward-thinking CaaS firms excites us. The difficulties Aeversa faces in the South African market have a significant impact on the technology that underpins our software, and we are eager to keep improving it to cope with these harsh circumstances “says Ampcontrol’s CEO and founder, Joachim Lohse. The sophistication of Aeversa’s solutions, when combined with our software, will accelerate the nation’s development of electric car projects.”
According to Reando Potgieter, co-founder and COO of Aeversa, “Ampcontrol’s software solutions provide the energy management tools that Aeversa employs to provide local fleet owners the confidence that a large-scale EV fleet transition is viable, despite the country’s constrained electrical grid.” “Vehicle fleets can significantly contribute to the stabilization of South Africa’s power system thanks to V2G and programmable charging schedules. Aeversa considers it both a privilege and an obligation to assist South African fleets in making the switch to electric vehicles. This global collaboration excites us because it is a shining illustration of how cutting-edge technology spurs progress.
