Neeraj Kessery has been welcomed by Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volkswagen B-BBEE Initiatives Trust.
Kessery, who assumed this role on August 1, 2022, succeeds Sipha Ndawonde, who had led the Trust since its establishment in 2016. Ndawonde will continue to serve as an organization Trustee.
Even though it bears the Volkswagen name, the Trust is run independently by a Board of Trustees to increase the number of high-calibre black-owned suppliers and enterprises along the automobile industry’s value chain. Through various programs, the Trust has so far helped seven enterprises
“Moving forward, I’d like to consider what further value the Trust might provide to help businesses increase their profits and streamline their processes. In a perfect world, we would give them access to a wide range of services and possibilities”,
said Kessery.
Trustee Nonkqubela Maliza, who also serves as the VWSA Director for Corporate and Government Affairs, remarked,
“We are happy to welcome Neeraj in his new role for the Trust.” He has already proven himself to be a valuable Trustee, and we anticipate seeing his additional contributions to the restructuring of the automotive industry. We also really appreciate Sipha’s excellent efforts throughout his tenure and are happy that we can still gain from his commitment as a Trustee.”
