The New Year’s crossover camp hosted by The Breakfast Boyz was nothing short of a spectacular experience that left us with memories to cherish and a strong desire for more. Held over two glorious days at the scenic Hartebees Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort, this event seamlessly blended adventure, camaraderie, and mouthwatering delights, making it an absolute must-attend for anyone looking to kick off the year with a bang.
The founder of The Breakfast Boyz is 36-year-old Lesetja Legodi from Mamelodi, east of Pretoria. His vision was to curate modern culinary experiences in the township that would offer a different contrast to the everyday shisanyama and other traditional food offered in the Kasi. Serving dishes such as eggs benedict or a bacon chicken roulade with a glass of bubbly or mimosa has his events sold out every time. Through different concepts, Legodi and his team continuously create unique experiences, and Camp’s Bae is one of them.
One of the standout features of the camp was the meticulous attention to detail in ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of every participant. All meals, tents, and entertainment were provided, making the entire experience hassle-free and allowing us to focus solely on the joy of being in the moment. The Breakfast Boyz truly lived up to their reputation for creating unforgettable events that go above and beyond expectations.
Camping at Hartebeespoort Dam turned out to be a stroke of genius, as our tents were strategically placed to overlook the breathtaking scenery. Waking up to the sight of the sun kissing the horizon over the serene landscape was a picture-perfect start to each day. It’s no wonder camping has become such a popular choice for those seeking an immersive and rejuvenating experience.
The camp was hosted at the beautiful Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort, which is friendly and equipped with showers and ablution facilities. A jungle gym and pool too cool off on the hot summer days. The area by the dam has fantastic views of jet skis and boats dallying daily, and of course one can enjoy a boat ride, horseback riding, quad biking and so many other out-door experiences just a short ride away. The camping experience for three days costs R2175pp and R4200pps for all meals, campsite and entry to the resort for all days. It also includes a three-hour boat party on the dam with snacks and a glass of bubbly.
What set this event apart was the emphasis on fostering connections and creating opportunities to meet new people. The atmosphere was charged with positivity, and the shared activities provided ample chances to strike up conversations and make lasting connections. Whether gathered around a crackling bonfire, sharing stories under the starlit sky, or partaking in various group activities, the sense of community was palpable.
The memories of laughter, adventure, and newfound friendships linger as we look back on the New Year’s crossover camp. The Breakfast Boyz have not only mastered the art of event planning but have also tapped into the growing interest in camping as a preferred way to celebrate special occasions.
