Hello Mabs
What are the signs that my car needs to be taken to a mechanic or for a service?

Great question, and one that could save you from costly repairs down the line. The first thing to check is your vehicle’s service book, it tells you at what intervals you are supposed to get your vehicle serviced and takes out the guesswork. Most
manufacturers recommend a service every 15 000km to 20 000km, depending on the model. If you’re unsure, check your manual or call your dealership to confirm your service intervals.
Watch your dashboard for warning lights like the oil can, engine or battery symbols , please do not ignore these. Strange noises, a sluggish start, oil leaks, or a drop in fuel efficiency are also signs your car needs attention.

Skipping a service can lead to engine damage, poor performance and higher fuel
consumption. On the other hand, regular servicing keeps your car running smoothly,
helps spot potential issues early and saves you money in the long run.
Think of it as a health check for your car. A well-serviced vehicle is safer, more reliable and performs better on the road. When you optimise its health, your car (and wallet) will thank you later.
