As the year begins and the palpable excitement of what lies ahead of us keeps us motivated, we are looking back at moments that made us feel great. As a media brand that covers travel, motoring, and lifestyle, cars have played a special part in our professional lives. Well, some more than others. We cannot deny that some cars are more special than others. This month we circle back and look at some of the cars that left a special place in our hearts.
There comes a time when upgrades are necessary, in all senses of the word. Career, love, adventure, style, you name it. To live up to your full potential, a couple of things might need to change for change is inevitable they say. What if I told you there’s a car out there that can help you do so and it’s perfect for the type of upgrade I am rabbling on about?
I recently stepped into a car that made me feel confident, adventurous, and overall cooler than I am. BMW has released a refreshed 3 Series dressed in adaptive M suspension to make it have that vavavoom anyone needs to bring out their adventurous side. One thing BMW always prides itself in is sheer driving pleasure. That came across with the ground clearance you feel driving the 340i, well planted on the road so that you can enjoy the overtaking and the getting to your destination earlier than expected. BMW has developed its 3,0-litre six-cylinder engine which now produces 285 kW and 5000 Nm of power that goes to the front and rear thanks to the xDrive all-wheel-drive system with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
Usually, I would be reluctant and a tad negative to test a sedan, this one however had me eager to sit at the wheel because of its muscular/Sport-looking nature and the respect it commands just by the looks. The front of the BMW 3 Series still retains the classic design that we all love, while the rear has been updated with more modern and refined features. The range-topping 340i model comes with 19-inch black rims that enhance the car’s sporty appearance.
The cabin is comfortable even with the M bucket seats that are neatly stitched and electronically adjustable, putting you in a proper position to enjoy the Sport and Sport Plus modes. Our test model was complete with the Harman Kardon sound system which was greatly appreciated to enjoy our favourite Msaki track on repeat. The cabin’s overall feel is comfortable and not forgetting convenient tech with Apple CarPlay (No Android Auto?), ambient lighting, and the M seatbelts for those “don’t break your neck” selfies.
A practical performance sedan, with a bit of youthfulness, is a perfect upgrade for the young (and maybe older) consumers out there looking for confidence and to make a statement. Upgrade!
