Have you ever paused and thought about how much technology has advanced in the past ten years or so?
And with the conversation on Artificial Intelligence also gaining momentum, it has become clear that things are still going to move even faster in the foreseeable future.
For some this is a terrifying thought but for others, mostly younger people, it would just be another day at the office.
But we need not be too scared of technology especially those of us who drive new generation automobiles.
I was discussing this the other day with a friend who is not necessarily into cars but was happy about the technological features her car affords her.
In all honesty, cars are no longer just pieces of metal we use to take us from point A to B, they have become much more than that.
Modern car buyers demand and expect more when making a purchase. This expectation is across the board, from entry level right up to luxury saloons.
There are a few technological features that motorists don’t compromise on. Almost every motorist wants to be always connected, they are either listening to music or an audiobook or radio but connected they are.
Below are a few of the most popular car techs we have grown to love:
Adaptive Cruise control:
This is the best invention for long distance driving. It takes away the stress of having to watch your speed instead it gives you control without the work.
Reverse camera:
When reserve camaras first came out they were a shock to our system, but we got used to it such that parking without looking at the camera feels unnatural for some of us.
Park assist:
The park assist gives us control when we park in tight spots as it constantly warns us when we get too close to an object.
Auto wipers:
At face value, this might seem like an unnecessary feature but a closer look at it shows that it also offers comfort and certainty to the driver.
The auto wipers automatically go off at the first drop of rain. In fact, this feature senses even small drops of water, and it does the work.
Keyless entry:
This must be one of the best inventions in the technology revolution. The idea of entering your car with the key in the pocket is quite amazing.
Push start button:
The “cousin” of the keyless entry. After entering the car without touching the key you then simply push the button, and the engine is on and you drive away without fiddling to look for the key.
