If you have been in any township, then you know that using public transportation in these parts is at the risk of losing your sense of hearing. Whenever a Caracara, Quantum or a Venture passes by with music so loud that you physically feel in your gut, here’s what I always ask: “How do they hear themselves think?!”
I have had a change of heart and attitude since the 2018 Polo Beats edition came into my life. Polo is the first Volkswagen model in South Africa to be fitted with the Beats premium system. We are talking a 300-watts sound system, the newly designed amplifier and subwoofer are housed at the bottom of the boot to the left hand side of the spare wheel well, now that’s a combination that would get anyone to “Shesha Geza”!
For those of you who don’t know, the Beats premium sound system is an American audio specialist electronics founded by well-known rapper and business mogul Dr Dre and Jimmy Lovine back in 2008. The Polo Beats edition comes standard with composition media Radio with USB-interface for iPod/iPhone, Aux, Bluetooth connectivity and app connect.
Beats everywhere, your Polo will not only stand out because of the sound quality, the dashpad comes in “velvet red’ with what looks like a matte finish. It will only take seconds for peeps to realise that this Polo is unique with the Beats logos on the exterior B pillars and the seat upholstery design.
What do I think? I think if “it’s a vibe was a car” it would definitely be the Polo Beats edition!
