Before you set off on your road trip, first check when is your car due for service. Taking your car in for a full service will ensure that all the necessary maintenance tasks are carried out, and afford you peace of mind that it is ready for the trip and will run as smoothly as possible.
- Check all the fluids
Low oil, brake fluid, or coolant levels can result in major car problems when you least expect it, especially during a long journey. Check and top-up all the fluids before you leave home.
- Inspect the tyres
Don’t forget to check the tire pressure and tread depth. The right tire pressure ensures your car performs well and that you get optimum fuel efficiency. Low tread depth can reduce the tire’s grip on the road, making it potentially dangerous.
- Pack the car essentials
Pack an emergency kit that includes a blanket, flashlight, water, snacks, and a first aid kit. Remember to carry a spare tire, jack, and basic tools for fixing a tire or minor issues. Keep a map, or GPS in the car along with a phone charger and other electronic accessories.

You could also consider songs that relate to the destinations you will be heading to, creating a perfect ambiance for your trip.
