Modern life has turned human beings into machine like zombies, we wake up , go to work, come back, help the kids with home(if you have any), check out the news and go to sleep. We do not have the freedom to breathe fresh country life, in fact we do not have the time to do that. Gone are the days when life used to have moments of slowness, the fast-paced modern life can have ripple effects on our emotional and mental health. Gauteng residents are probably the most affected by this if. I was recently looking for a little recharge not too far away from my home. It would be a little escape from the fast-paced life of a career woman. Voila, I discovered a gem, situated in Magaliesburg, Whispering Pines is a true escape a stone throw away. Just twenty minutes from my home in the West Rand, I found the place quiet and healing, a perfect place to recharge. We chose to visit Whispering Pines on a Sunday so we could take it all in.
The Subaru XV was up to the task and fitted well in on the country roads. Honestly, one does not need an SUV to go to Whispering Pines as the roads that side are intact. The only inconvenience is the stretch of gavel which is about a kilometre from the main road onto the property. The XV just loved being on that gravel showcasing its state of the art Subaru All Wheel Drive. The SUV-crossover characteristics gives the XV a special advantage. Our bright orange XV enhances the character of the compact SUV-crossover Subaru. It stands out of the crowd. As we drive into the property, we are greeted by the sounds of different bird species that call the Pines home.
I couldn’t help but think, Sundays have to be like this, slow and quiet. The XV on the other hand outperformed its duties. It has grown up on so many levels. Entering the cabin, you immediately notice the new 8-inch Infotainment StarLink LCD Screen. This modern screen is equipped to allow a host of connectivity and applications. The tilt/telescopically-adjustable leather wheel itself features the audio, cruise control and mobile phone controls. There are a number of one touch functions throughout the cabin, notably the electric windows which feature one touch open and close on all windows as well as the keyless entry push-button start system that allows you to keep the keys on your person whilst still being able to operate the functions required. Also available on the ES model is a slide/tilt-adjustable sunroof.
