Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) honoured the winners of the 2024 Toyota/Agri SA Young Farmer of the Year, New Harvest of the Year, and Communal Farming Association of the Year awards at a prestigious gala event in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. The ceremony highlighted the resilience, determination, and innovation within South Africa’s agricultural sector.
Dwayne Kaschula, from Maclear, Eastern Cape, was named Young Farmer of the Year
for his diversified farming approach, which includes maize, potatoes, livestock, and egg production. He was awarded a new Toyota Hilux 2.4 GD-6 Single Cab.
Meshack Ndongeni, from Kokstad, Eastern Cape, received the New Harvest of the Year award for his exceptional financial planning and management of a diverse farming operation. He too drove away in a Toyota Hilux.
Modulaqhowa Primary Cooperative Limited, from Botshabelo, Free State, won the
Communal Farming Association of the Year Award, receiving R300 000 to support its
sustainable farming operations, which include indigenous trees, fruit trees, and
vegetables.

With over 20 years of dedication to the sector, Toyota’s awards serve to recognise the hardworking individuals shaping the future of farming in South Africa.
