ASK MABS : Tyre Safety 101- Signs It’s Time for New Tyres

Hello Mabs

My dad recently handed me his older VW Polo so that I do not have to rely on public transport since I work mostly the night shift. How often should I replace my tyres?

Mabs Answers:

Tyres should be replaced when the tread depth reaches the legal minimum, but I prefer not to wait until the last millimetre. Also look out for cracks, bulges or uneven wear. Your tyres are your only contact with the road. Do not compromise on them. Rotate them regularly and check alignment. A little care extends their life beautifully.
