Hello Mabs
I recently drove on gravel roads in Mpumalanga and nearly lost control. How should I handle driving on rural roads safely?

Mabs Answers:
Gravel roads can be tricky, even for experienced drivers. The key is to slow down and avoid sudden movements. Keep a firm, gentle grip on the steering wheel and steer smoothly. If you start to slide, don’t slam on the brakes rather, ease off the accelerator and steer in the direction you want to go. Make sure your tyres are properly inflated and still have good tread. Also, engage a lower gear when going downhill for better control. The golden rule: on gravel, less speed equals more safety.
