ASK MABS-Is Importing a Car Really Worth It? The Hidden Costs You Should Know

Hello Mabs

I’m thinking of importing a car, but I hear it can get expensive to service here. Is it really worth it?

Mabs Answers

In most cases, importing a car is more of a headache than a joy. While it’s
tempting to have something unique, parts can be hard to find and costly to replace. You might also struggle to find trained technicians, which can drive up maintenance costs. Add shipping fees, import taxes and delays, and suddenly it’s not such a sweet deal. Unless it’s a collector’s item or something truly special, you’re usually better off buying a locally supported model. Your wallet (and your patience) will thank you in the long run.
