ASK MABS: Is Your Keyless Car Really Secure?

Hello Mabs

I bought a car with keyless entry, but I still don't really understand how secure it is. Should I be doing anything differently to protect my car from theft?

Mabs Answers

This is a great question. Modern convenience sometimes creates new habits we need to learn. Keyless entry is safe, but like any technology, it's worth understanding how it works. Some thieves use signal-boosting devices that try to detect your key when it's left close to the front door of your home.

A simple habit is to keep your keys further inside the house rather than near the entrance. Some owners also choose to store their keys in a signal-blocking pouch designed for keyless fobs.
