Hello Mabs. What is the difference between a naturally aspirated engine and a turbocharged engine?

Thank you for asking this great question!
Let’s keep it simple. A naturally aspirated engine breathes on its own. It pulls in air the old-fashioned way, without any help. These engines tend to be more predictable and smooth, which many people like, especially when driving around town or on school runs.
On the other hand, a turbocharged engine gets a boost. It uses a turbo to push more air into the engine, giving it extra power without making the engine bigger. This means you can get better performance and even better fuel economy if you drive it right.
In South Africa, we are seeing more small cars with turbo engines because they are
lighter on fuel and still offer a bit of zip when overtaking on the highway.
Naturally aspirated engines can be easier and cheaper to maintain in the long run, but turbos are popular for a reason.
So, it really depends on what you want from your car. Easy cruising or a bit of a push when you need it?
