With the right products and a solid sales strategy, the South African automotive market is full of possibilities and opportunities. This was evident when we welcomed Jetour, the latest Chinese entrant to our shores. Like many others, Jetour promises adventure, and innovation, and aims to redefine affordable luxury for South African customers.

Jetour entered our market with style, serenaded by MiCasa at a dazzling event held on the Sandton City Mall rooftop, in Africa’s richest square mile.
Chinese cars, like HAVAL, Chery, and OMODA, are becoming increasingly popular in South Africa due to their affordability and attractive features. However, Jetour is not just following the rest. It aims to stand out as a brand synonymous with travel, adventure, and a commitment to innovation, reliability, and sustainability. This ethos is reflected in the name: “JET” represents speed and success, while “TOUR” captures the spirit of freedom and exploration.

The Chinese manufacturer presented two flagship models: the Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus. These vehicles feature sleek design, advanced technology, and premium features, aimed at the global travel automotive market.
Addressing the audience, Li Xueyong, President of Jetour Auto, highlighted the brand’s commitment to understanding the needs of travellers and providing vehicles with exceptional off-road capability, safety, and space.
“South Africa is a mature and competitive market. We’ve invested significant time and effort in understanding the needs of South African customers. Our launch is just the beginning,” said Xueyong.

Jetour has ambitious plans for South Africa, considering it a key part of its global vision. The brand aims to achieve 2,000 unit sales by the end of the year and 30,000 over the next three years. This goal is supported by its proven track record of selling over 1.22 million vehicles globally, we were told.
The X70 is available in two derivatives: the Momentum (R454,900) and the Deluxe
(R484,900). The Deluxe offers additional features, including LED headlights, keyless entry, synthetic leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and safety systems like Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Detection.

Now the Dashing— a quirky, Lamborghini Urus look-alike a Lamborghini Urus – is a smart family SUV with added luxury. It features striking LED lights, plush leatherette seats, various gadgets, safety systems, and advanced technology. The Dashing comes in two trims: Standard (R439,900) and Deluxe (R469,900).

In addition to entering the South African market with pricing and packages that are not going to make your heart jump out of your chest, Jetour’s launch is supported by a strong after- sales strategy. This includes R100 million in parts inventory and a network of 40 dealerships nationwide.
Nic Campbell, Vice President of Jetour South Africa, highlighted the brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. “We are on the brink of unveiling something truly extraordinary—an achievement that symbolises our unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining what is possible in the world of transportation and mobility.”

Xueyong reiterated Jetour’s mission to create exceptional products while prioritising
environmental and social responsibility. ” We’ll spare no effort to bring the best products, experience, and journeys to the South African people. “
Both the Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus are available at dealerships nationwide.
