Multi-tasking is something that I have come to relish some might say I suffer from a split personality. I enjoy dressing up, smelling good, and speaking about growth strategies and innovations in the media and other key industries. I am also a farmer who loves the idea of being one with the land and animals and exploring ways to generate a better yield and technologies that will increase our food generation. While these roles are complex and complementary, they often require a vehicle that seamlessly brings them together. In comes the Ford Ranger. This vehicle made history by becoming the first bakkie to win South African Car of the Year since it was first established in 1986. Most importantly it has become my go-to vehicle and I always welcome a test unit with much delight. My most recent time spent in one, made the experience much more memorable.
The Ford Ranger is a robust and reliable vehicle that has won the hearts of numerous South Africans. It is a perfect balance between car luxury, power, and functionality. This car was one of the first of its kind to hit the market, and it has since set the benchmark for all other bakkies.
The Ranger started showing up strongly since the first round of voting from the general membership of the South African Guild of Mobility Journalists. The winning model is the Ranger 4×4 2.0L Bi-Turbo.
One of the things that makes the Ford Ranger stand out is its durability. It has a rugged exterior that can withstand extreme weather conditions, and its performance on any terrain is remarkable. Whether you are driving through the mountains or cruising through a sandy beach, the Ranger can handle it all seamlessly.
The car is packed with modern tech features to keep drivers and passengers entertained and connected. The infotainment system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers to access essential apps, like navigation, Google Maps, or Spotify. Drivers can also use voice commands to answer calls or make adjustments to the air conditioning or music system.
Another great feature is its safety system. The Ranger comes equipped with advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and forward-collision warning. This system ensures the driver can easily control the car while staying within the speed limit.
The Ford Ranger is a worthy winner of the 2023 South African Car of the Year. Its impressive performance, reliability, and modern features make it an excellent choice for those looking for a reliable car that can handle both rough terrains and city roads. Whether you are going for a weekend on the beach or driving to work, the Ford Ranger will not disappoint.
In my day-to-day life, it allows me to visit the fields with such ease. During the rainy season, when roads on the farm are prone to mud, it navigated the deep puddles with so much ease. Back on the freeways, it took on other vehicles effortlessly, getting me to my meetings on time and without cramping my style. Getting in and out of the vehicle was just effortless, making it a plus for me considering my average height
