When did you decide to pursue baking as a career? Was it always your passion?
I have always loved cooking. However, baking was a skill I stumbled upon during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time, I had time for myself and my loved ones. I
began by baking a rainbow cake for a friend, which became known as the “Covid cake” and received an overwhelmingly positive response and everyone was shocked at my ability to bake. That made me realize I was onto something special and my passion for baking took off from that point.
How would you describe your baking style or philosophy?
I call it “City Girl Baking”. I’m a convenience baker, I make baking fun, trendy and most easy. I can get my makeup done and whip up two dozen cupcakes at the same time. At just 22, I’ve figured out hacks to get quality products without the hassle. I believe in making baking accessible to everyone, which is why I constantly share tips and tricks on my TikTok. Baking is better when it’s done together.

What influences or inspirations can people notice in your baked goods?
I tend to be dramatic, which people often notice in my work. My biggest influences are my aunt and sister, who are precise bakers and taught me the importance of
presentation because people eat with their eyes first. I also grew up watching a lot of British baking shows, which has influenced my flavour pairings.

What are your go-to baked treats for the summer season?
I love quick bakes that do not keep you in the kitchen all day. Linzer cookies and
scones, dikuku, are my go-to treats. They are perfect for family gatherings and will not have you missing out on summer fun.

What is your favourite dessert or baked item, and does it hold any special
significance for you?
Jam tarts are my absolute favourite, and I can’t stop eating them! They mean a lot to me because my sister makes the best ones, though she hasn’t taught me the recipe yet. Growing up without a mother, my sister took on a motherly role and introduced me to the kitchen. To me, jam tarts are a symbol of our bond.

Where can people try your baked creations?
People can order through our social media pages and try our cake slices, scones,
dessert cups, and cake-tasting boxes. We are based in Foxlake, Tlhabane, Rustenburg in the North West Province. While we don’t offer delivery, customers can opt for our Bolt package service as an alternative.
