From the Comrades Marathon to ‘Survivor SA,’ Letshego Zulu lives life in high gear. As a fitness advocate, entrepreneur, and devoted mom, she’s found the perfect partner in her Peugeot 5008, blending safety, comfort, and adventure. She speaks to Aurelia Mbokazi-Kashe about how the brand fits her active, purpose-driven lifestyle and more.

How did your partnership with Peugeot South Africa and Stellantis SA come
about, and what does your role as the brand ambassador entail?
This partnership really grew from years of building relationships and staying connected in the right circles. When my previous five-year brand journey came to a natural end, things aligned beautifully with Stellantis SA and Peugeot.
They actually refer to me as a Brand Influencer, which feels spot-on; my job is to represent the brand in a positive light, drive responsibly (of course!), and share my experiences authentically on social media. It’s a role that lets me live my truth while introducing people to a brand I genuinely enjoy being part of.

As a biokineticist, fitness advocate, and co-founder of PopUpGym, what drew
you to align with an automotive brand like Peugeot?
Honestly, it was more my work through RL Media, my outdoor media business, that brought Peugeot into my world. I manage a unique portfolio of billboards across the country, so out-of-home advertising is my everyday game. And my car? It’s literally a billboard on wheels!
My name’s across the doors, RL Media is proudly displayed on the bonnet, and “Driven by Stellantis” sits neatly near the back. It’s a smart, eye-catching extension of my brand, and it moves!
Being a mother to a 10-year-old daughter, what are the key things you look for in a vehicle when it comes to safety and comfort for a growing child?
Safety, safety, safety! That’s the non-negotiable. The Peugeot 5008 ticks all the boxes for me. It’s known for its safety features, it’s super comfortable, and the space is just incredible. It’s a 7-seater, so there’s always room for my daughter to bring her friends along for a ride. And the joy on their faces when we do a little weekend adventure? Priceless.

As someone who runs, cycles, swims and travels frequently for races and
events, how does your current Peugeot support your active lifestyle?
My Peugeot is basically my adventure buddy! I’ve added a towbar for my bike rack and roof racks for our roof box when we hit the road. The boot is MASSIVE, which is ideal because both my daughter and I are always on the move. Whether it’s tennis racquets, hockey sticks, golf bags, rollerblades, or my cycling gear, it all fits in without a fuss. No game of Tetris required!

You’ve taken on some of the most physically and mentally demanding
challenges, from ‘Survivor SA’ to Comrades. How has that adventurous spirit influenced your driving experience and the kind of vehicle you choose?
I definitely have an adventurous streak. I love the outdoors and I’m always chasing
the next challenge. That same spirit extends to how I drive. I’m alert, aware, and confident behind the wheel. I’ve even done a few advanced driving courses over the years, so I know how to handle myself and my vehicle on any road. For me, a car needs to match that energy: capable, reliable, and ready for whatever adventure we throw at it.

Peugeot has been undergoing exciting changes under Stellantis. What innovations or features have stood out for you as making a real difference in
people’s lives?
One feature I really appreciate is the Active Lane Departure Warning system. It’s part of the Driver Assist package and honestly, it’s such a thoughtful addition. We all have those moments where we lose a little focus, especially after long days or during tough drives, and this helps keep things in check. It’s a feature that doesn’t just sound cool—it actually helps prevent accidents and save lives.
You’ve lived a life of purpose and resilience, especially after the loss of Gugu. How has that shaped the way you approach partnerships and the brands you choose to represent?
Gugu taught me so much. He had a true gift for connecting with brands in a
meaningful way, he didn’t just represent them, he lived them. That’s something I’ve taken to heart. These days, I only say yes to partnerships that feel right, that
genuinely align with my lifestyle and values. It’s not just about the product it’s about whether the brand fits into my life and supports what I stand for.
What’s your dream car and what would your daughter say is hers?
I’m all about space and comfort—give me a big, roomy car over a sporty convertible any day! I’m basically a proud “Mom’s Taxi,” and I own it. If I could custom-build my dream car, it would be something that fits our bikes, handles off-road trips, and still has enough space for all the gear life throws at us.
My daughter? She’s totally onboard. She’s got that practical, sporty mindset too, so anything cool, comfy, and adventure-ready gets her stamp of approval.
