If you’re planning a long trip, here are a few practical ways to stay alert and safe behind the wheel:

Take a break every two hours – even a quick stop to stretch your legs, grab a snack, or hydrate – this will do wonders for your concentration.

Stick to the speed limit – not just to avoid fines, but because it gives you better control of your car and reaction time.

Use your car’s safety technology – features like lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and fatigue detection aren’t just bells and whistles – they’re designed to keep you, your passengers, and other road users safe.

Stay hydrated and avoid heavy meals – dehydration and fatigue from heavy and
greasy fast food can cause a slump when you are driving long distances and affect your senses.

Keep the vibe upbeat – music or podcasts can keep your brain engaged, but avoid
anything too relaxing.

And above all, if you feel tired – pull over. It’s better to arrive late than not at all.
