As part of a long-term transformation to become the top electrified SUV brand in the world, the Jeep® brand today unveiled a comprehensive plan for its upcoming line of 4×4 fully electric vehicles.
According to Christian Meunier, CEO of the Jeep brand,
“We are creating and developing the most capable and sustainable Jeep SUVs to date, on our way to becoming the premier zero-emission SUV brand in the world, driven by the success of our electrified 4xe range in North America and Europe.” This is an innovative proposal to guarantee that the billions of Jeep enthusiasts worldwide will always have a planet to discover, cherish, and defend. Our brand will become even more capable, exciting, sustainable, and enjoyable with electrification.”
The all-new Jeep Recon and an all-new Wagoneer, code-named Wagoneer S, were unveiled by the Jeep brand, along with a confirmation that the all-new, all-electric Jeep Avenger will debut in Europe early in 2019. Both SUVs will be available in North America and other parts of the world.
In terms of the number of models, category participation, and sales volume, the Jeep brand will have a comprehensive lineup of new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) available by 2030, taking the lead in the SUV market. In the United States, all-electric cars will thus account for 50% of brand sales.
The Jeep Recon is one of the first completely new electric SUVs that will go on sale in North America. This all-new vehicle is designed for those who enjoy exploring extreme adventures in almost complete silence with a tough, entirely electric vehicle package. The Jeep Recon is made entirely of Jeep 4×4 components and is completely emission-free.
Another addition to the Wagoneer family will be a brand-new SUV. With a distinctive, sleek, aerodynamic design, 4×4 capability as standard, all-terrain management, advanced Jeep brand-focused technology, and impressive performance credentials, this fully electric vehicle, code-named Wagoneer S, will continue to expand the brand’s presence in the premium SUV segment. This new, all-electric, global SUV will be offered exclusively as a BEV, targeting a range of 400 miles on a single charge, 600 hp, and a 0-60 mph time of around.
The public will be able to see the brand-new Jeep Recon and Wagoneer BEV next year, and North American manufacture will begin in 2024. Beginning in early 2023, American customers will be able to reserve the new Jeep Recon BEV SUV. Both vehicles will be offered for sale in important international areas, including Europe.
The Jeep Avenger, an all-new, all-electric compact SUV that was introduced earlier this year during the Stellantis Dare Forward long-term strategic plan, is the first model of this product offensive. With a targeted electric range of 400 kilometres, this new SUV will offer impressive ground clearance, break-over, and approach angles for its segment while delivering a modern and technologically advanced interior with plenty of space for people and cargo. Early 2023 will see the debut of the brand-new Jeep Avenger.
Using technology and electrification, Jeep continues to enhance its legendary 4×4 capability globally. There will be announcements regarding other regions at a later date, as the current plan focuses on North America and Europe.
In pursuit of the brand’s vision of achieving Zero Emission Freedom, Jeep is now transforming 4xe into a new 4×4, enhancing the brand’s off-road capability.
