With the introduction of the brand-new Ford Mustang, Ford is once again sending a wake-up call to sports car enthusiasts worldwide. With brand-new, extremely advanced turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines, an edgier yet traditional exterior appearance, and a computerised cockpit inspired by fighter planes, the seventh generation is the most thrilling and visceral yet.
The seventh-generation Mustang’s sculpted exterior profile conceals the most cutting-edge, driver-focused cockpit yet built for a Mustang. Two flowing and curved screens in the cockpit, which take design cues from fighter jets, can be instantly customised to show the driver the data they want or need to view.
Ford interior design manager Ricardo Garcia remarked, “We recognized what customers wanted and built the most digital Mustang ever while preserving the crucial driver-focused cockpit. According to studies, both classic Mustang drivers and members of the Gen-Z and Millennial generations favour doing rid of some of these physical buttons, including the ones for the radio and climate control, and replacing them with digital displays.
Every model in the series of Mustangs has a distinctive front end. The larger, more aggressive grille apertures on GT versions, which were designed to enable more airflow and represent the boost in power and performance, set them apart from EcoBoost models. With the addition of additional hood vents and a reworked front splitter, the car’s aerodynamics are further optimised.
Christopher Walter, Ford Mustang design manager, claimed that the EcoBoost and Mustang GT both have distinctive visual elements that live up to their promise of Mustang Performance.
“The new Mustang is sculpted and edgier, leaning into Mustang’s iconic brawniness and ageless.”
The experience that entices customers to jump in the driver’s seat and hit the road is largely dependent on how the Mustang looks, drives, and sounds. With innovative and cutting-edge engine innovations, the all-new Mustang offers a more thrilling driving experience.
It is now equipped with a cutting-edge 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine, the Mustang GT. Thanks to an inventive dual air intake box and dual-throttle body design that helps minimize induction loss by permitting higher air flow rates, the fourth-generation 5.0-litre is expected to produce the highest naturally aspirated horsepower of any Mustang GT. Customers who want the fun-to-drive factor of the Mustang with fuel efficiency advantages can choose the EcoBoost variant, which is powered by an entirely new, four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-litre powerplant.
Chief nameplate engineer for the Ford Mustang, Ed Krenz.
”We are now able to give drivers peak performance anywhere, from their favorite routes to their local track, whether they are operating an automatic or manual gearbox, owing to drive modes combined with the fine-tuned digital engine, suspension, and steering controls.”
The standard rev-matching in the Mustang GT manual transmission aids in maintaining engine RPM when the clutch is applied. Between manual gear changes, the maximum torque is maintained, providing even greater precision, pleasure, and refinement. The rear-wheel-drive drifting capabilities of the Mustang are unlocked by a segment-first electronic drift brake, which combines modern technology with the aesthetics and usability of a conventional, mechanical hand brake.
Owners can utilize additional accessible remote functions including remote vehicle start and stop, door locking and unlocking, arranging a start time, locating the vehicle, and vehicle health and status checks via the FordPassTM app to stay connected with their car. Users may access vital vehicle information, such as fuel and oil levels, service records, and warranty details, through the FordPass app.
Beginning in the summer of 2023, the all-new Mustang will be sold in the United States. It is made at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan.
