Stellantis and Africar Group announce the beginning of Auto24 operations in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Auto24 is a direct-to-consumer used automobile firm that offers fresh, creative ways to make sure that business is done in a secure, open, and transparent manner.
More than 40 Sub-Saharan nations are served by Africar Group, the largest online automotive marketplace network in Africa.
Stellantis purchased a stake in Africar Group to build Auto24 and tap into the market potential in Africa, where the population is expected to reach 1.7 billion people by 2030 and where there are now 50 million cars in use. With this investment, Stellantis can expand its portfolio of mobility solutions and solidify its commitment to client-centricity as part of its overall business strategy. One of the seven accretive industries that Stellantis has targeted, it serves as an illustration of the plan Dare Forward 2030.
“After more than five years of working with vehicle manufacturers, distributors, and other important players in the sector, we have established a class-leading, multi-country digital automotive solution across Sub-Saharan Africa,
stated Axel Peyriere, co-Founder and CEO of Africar Group.
The goal of today’s launch of Auto24 is to increase African consumers’ trust in the used car market. A significant task that will enable a safe, practical, reliable, and fun used automobile buying or selling experience.”
This investment in Africar Group to create Auto24, according to Xavier Duchemin, Senior Vice President of the Pre-Owned Vehicles Business Unit of Stellantis, “re-enforces our objective to extend our used vehicle business activity globally in a bold, pragmatic, and flexible way. It will proceed according to the same strategy as the previous Stellantis investments in the used car ecosystem. The entrepreneurs will quicken the growth of their initiatives while leveraging Stellantis while preserving the ingenuity, vigor, and adaptability that define start-up businesses.”
Stellantis has about 124 locations of sale and servicing, giving it the broadest network coverage in Sub-Saharan Africa for the automobile sector.
According to Mr. Samir CHERFAN, Stellantis Middle East & Africa Chief Operating Officer,
“today’s agreement with Africar Group and its subsidiary Auto24 will allow us to expand our portfolio of mobility solutions that broadly satisfy the client needs in Africa.”
