It is impossible to take away someone’s niche, and for Nissan, that niche is their interior design. While opinions may vary on their cars, one thing they consistently excel at is creating comfortable, premium-feeling interiors with high-quality materials. This is particularly true for the Nissan X-Trail. After spending a few days in the large seven-seater SUV, I am convinced that it is a functional and practical option to consider in the larger SUV segment.
Functional Interior
The Nissan X-Trail is a spacious car that is perfect for moms who have a lot of cargo to carry along with their kids. There is ample legroom and headroom for both the driver and passengers, including the third row, which is suitable for small children only, it would be too uncomfortable to squash adults there. Also, when these seats are in use, the boot space is limited.
Despite the premium feel of the car, I felt the addition of a sunroof would have amplified its overall charm. I would have also preferred the screen to be integrated into the dashboard instead of the tablet-like appearance, which seems a bit cheap.
Exterior
The X-Trail has an attractive exterior, although I was more impressed with the front than the rear. However, some individuals prefer a well-designed backside. Overall, the car is impressive where it counts. My favourite thing about the car’s look is the sturdy built that says “Fancy as I look I am more than capable offroad”!
The Drive
Equipped with a 2.4-liter petrol engine, expect to spend more money on fuel while driving this car in Cyril’s economy. During my city run, the car drove smoothly, but during my trip to Limpopo, I had to spend a bit more than I expected to fill up. However, the X-Trail performs well with its responsive handling, providing confidence while driving. Whether you’re navigating through the city or adventuring off the beaten path, this SUV proves to be more than capable of handling any challenge that comes its way.
Verdict:
The Nissan X-Trail stands out as the perfect blend of practicality and functionality in the crowded SUV market. While a sunroof may have added a touch of flair, its absence does little to detract from the overall appeal of this versatile vehicle. From daily commutes to cross-country adventures, the X-Trail is more than capable of rising to the occasion, making it a top contender for anyone in search of a practical SUV.
