Namibia has earned a spot as one of the most diverse holiday destinations in the world. As one of the largest and yet least populated countries, it boasts the most exquisite landscapes as though nature was showing off. With its close proximity and shared history with South Africa, it usually tops the bucket lists of most local tourists who want to leave our borders and xplore different experiences. And yes, it does not disappoint. Something different. Joburg-based hairdresser and owner of Rushell’s hair salon, Rushell Mathebula, recently had a five-day, life-changing experience of dune bashing with three close friends in Namibia. She describes the experience as thrilling and second to none.
My most recent trip was to Namibia and we were there for five days for pleasure. I traveled with three friends through Glamping Adventure South Africa.
My favourite part of the trip was hiking through the dunes in Sossusvlei. The area is known for its spectacular and colourful high sand dunes. Hiking up the dunes and riding the camels was an experience of a lifetime. It was truly an amazing to experience the Desert life in person.
Food was very interesting and quite flavourful. We tried game meat and it was delicious.
I planned the trip through Glamping Adventures SA. They do everything for you, and you are expected to just arrive and enjoy the experience they have curated for you. There is nothing I would have done differently travelling with Glamping Adventures SA is always a vibe.
I would definitely advise anyone to go and have experience Namibia atleast once in their lifetime. It offers wonderful experiences and each day there is something new to experience. However, I would advise tourists going to Namibia to ensure that they pack lite clothes and loads of sunscreen lotion since it gets extremely hot in Namibia.
