Jeffrey Oppong Peprah, CEO of Volkswagen Ghana and President of the Automotive Assemblers Association of Ghana (AAAG), is appointed Vice President by the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM). Additionally, there are vice Presidents for the component chapter and vice Presidents for North and Southern Africa. The President of AAAM is Mike Whitfield, who is also Nissan Africa’s Managing Director.
Jeffrey remarked in response to his appointment.
“Sub-Saharan Africa is growing at a rapid rate, and while there are certain uncertainties, they also mean that there is much potential for the automobile sector to grow quickly as the region urbanizes and a thriving economy emerges,” the author said. When asked what his vision was for the African automotive industry, he replied, “Stimulating the expansion of the automotive industry sector in Sub-Saharan Africa and paving the path for mobility for everybody in Africa.”
By collaborating with governments to create policies and offer support that will draw investors, unleash the continent’s economic potential, and bring together a global network of stakeholders committed to the development of the automotive industry in Africa, AAAM focuses on the expansion and deepening of the automotive industry across Africa.
